What can you do?
While it may appear as if the power is out of our hands at times, there are always ways to help. Below are some ways you can engage with your community to further our cause of legislative animal justice.
- Contact your congress representatives and state legislators
- Get to know what they care about and their work
- See their social media!
- Vote consciously (look through bill proposals carefully)

Legal change does not start and finish in the legislative branch; more often than not, change is first seen through discussion and civil disobedience. Beyond voting, you can support our cause in a plethora of other ways! Here are some ways you can support the movement of increased lawful animal rights (and eventually liberation) outside of the legal scope.
- Follow animals rights advocates & organizations on social media (e.g. @OuiAreALP on Twitter)
- Read up on the topic!
- Support ethical brands (check out these cruelty-free brands)
- Visit animal sanctuaries not zoos
- Learn about the laws that exist
- Sign petitions
- Donate to associated charities
- And more!
